The Farmhouse Apartments – Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
Le Pigeonnier Apartment
The Barn Apartments – Pinot Blanc, Gamay and Aligoté
Six self-contained apartments in an attractive courtyard setting
En La Marre is a former early 19th-century farmhouse, stable and barn in a tranquil rural location amidst forests, meadows, lakes and streams.
The property has been converted into six self-contained, one-bedroom apartments, ideal for couples of all lifestyles. It’s also perfect for groups of up to 12 friends who are looking to holiday together yet retain their independence.
Pets may be accepted – please contact us first. Regrettably, the apartments are not suitable for children of any age.
The three farm buildings that make up the six apartments are set around a gravel courtyard. The centrepiece is a thriving, fragrant herb garden, which guests are invited to use for their own culinary creations.
The buildings and patios are a picture in summer, with hanging baskets, window boxes, rambling vines, tubs and herbaceous borders overflowing with colour.
The courtyard opens onto the swimming pool and lounging area, where you’ll find plenty of sunbeds to enjoy the sunshine or shade.
Fully equipped, with everything you need
All six apartments are comfortably furnished and designed with easy living in mind. Although there are subtle differences between them, the overall accommodation specification is the same.
Each apartment has a living room, dining area, kitchen, double-bedroom and bathroom.
The living room has a sofa and armchair, a well-stocked bookcase including tourist information, a radio and CD player. (A DVD player and selection of DVDs is available on request.)
The dining area has a table and chairs.
The kitchen has a full-size gas stove, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave oven, toaster. Plus iron, ironing board and tea towels. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pigeonnier also have a dishwasher.
The bedroom has a kingsize bed, clothes hanging space and full-length mirror. Bedding and bedlinen is provided.
The bathroom has towels, toiletries, loo paper, a shaving point and hairdryer.
All apartments have a balcony or terrace, with patio furniture, a gas barbecue and views to open countryside.
Also provided are: free wifi, a laundry area, ample parking and four bicycles for guests to borrow.
Chardonnay is our only ground-floor apartment and takes up the lower part of the old farmhouse.
A feature in the living room is the French country fireplace with a coal-burning stove. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower. Outside, the covered terrace runs the full length of the building.
Pinot Noir occupies the first floor of the farmhouse, above the original granary, and is accessed by an external staircase. The open-plan layout and high ceiling with exposed beams add to the sense of space and lend a unique character.
The bedroom has a dressing table and bedside tables. There is a bath with shower attachment and a separate shower cubicle.
The Pigeonnier is an independent cottage, converted from a former stable with the addition of a round tower.
The white beams and wood panelling lend the interior an airy and spacious feel, with the curved walls of the living room and bedroom adding a fun and quirky character.
The bedroom and bathroom are on the first floor, which is accessed via a staircase. This means the property is unfortunately unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Pinot Blanc, Gamay and Aligoté
These three apartments are situated in the former granary of the barn, and are accessed by a short flight of stairs from the courtyard. They have a communal geranium-covered balcony overlooking the courtyard, and large picture windows with secluded balconies at the rear, offering views over the open countryside.
Exposed beams add to the character and the high ceiling gives a real sense of space. The bedroom is on a mezzanine floor, accessed by a wooden staircase from the living room. There is a bath with shower attachment and a separate shower cubicle.
